Bodystat QuadScan 4000 vs InBody R20

Bodystat QuadScan 4000 and InBody R20: compare documented specifications, features and limitations. Check the reports and explanation offered by the provider. More features alone do not establish better accuracy.

Bodystat QuadScan 4000: when to consider it

QuadScan 4000 measures impedance at four frequencies using adhesive electrodes. Alongside estimated fat and fat-free mass, it reports body-water compartments, resistance, reactance and phase angle. Testing is supine; the operator enters height and weight.

InBody R20: when to consider it

R20 was developed for home body-composition monitoring and also appears in some fitness services. It gives a basic muscle-and-fat overview. For a more detailed consultation, it matters whether the provider also uses the computer report.

Fat-free mass is not pure muscle mass. A single result is not a diagnosis. Different devices and similarly named metrics may use definitions that are not interchangeable.
